Why Your Roofing Website Isn't Getting Calls
I pulled up 55 roofing company websites in Atlanta. About a third of them were broken — 404 errors, expired certificates, or just plain down. Another third were live but so thin they might as well not exist. The remaining third were actually decent. And of those, most still don't convert visitors into calls.
Here's what I found across the board.
No phone number on the homepage
This sounds obvious, but I saw it repeatedly. The phone number is buried on a contact page, not visible on the homepage. When someone lands on your site, they should see your phone number in the header. Immediately. No scrolling. A homeowner with a leak doesn't want to navigate. They want to call.
No photos of actual work
Stock photos of smiling families in front of generic houses. I saw this everywhere. Roofers who had been in business 20 years were using photos that came with their website template. Your actual work is your best marketing asset. Every roof you finish, take 10 photos. Put them on your site. Put them on your Google profile. The photos pay for themselves in credibility.
No service pages
Most roofing sites have one page that says "we do roof repair, roof replacement, gutters, siding." That's it. Google can't rank a single page for four different services. You need a dedicated page for each service. A page for roof repair. A page for roof replacement. A page for emergency repairs. A page for insurance claims. Each page targeted at the exact words people search.
No neighborhood content
This is the biggest missed opportunity. Google rewards local specificity. A page about "Roof Repair in Buckhead" will outrank a generic "Atlanta Roofing Company" page for anyone searching in Buckhead. The roofers who win are the ones who built pages for the neighborhoods they actually work in. Photos of roofs in those neighborhoods. Reviews from those neighborhoods.
The fix
Phone number visible. Real photos. Individual service pages. Neighborhood content. Reviews feeding in weekly. Google posts keeping the profile alive. It's not complicated. It's just work. And most roofers aren't doing it.
